OCEAN STEWARDS KNOX (forthcoming)
MARINE CONSERVATION EDUCATION & COMMUNITY ACTION
Our homebase is in the Knox LGA, and many of our members live in the area. We love where we live, so Ocean Stewards Knox has been designed to help local residents become active environmental volunteers through education, citizen science and hands-on stewardship.
The project will provide workshops, volunteer training, environmental monitoring activities and community presentations designed to build practical skills, social connection and confidence.
Although Knox is inland, its residents are connected to the ocean through waterways, waste systems, recreation, volunteering and coastal participation.
Participants will learn how to contribute meaningfully to conservation work while becoming part of an ongoing network of trained volunteers supporting healthier communities and healthier environments.
This project is currently unfunded, though grant applications have been submitted. We welcome recommendations or expressions of interest for funding to help get it up and running!
