Rye Pier

Join Aquaholics at Rye for a Sea-Sweep marine pest survey and removal event. We’ll search the pier and surrounding habitat for priority invasive species, record what we find and carry out targeted removal while documenting the marine life encountered along the way.

About the event

Join Aquaholics at Rye for another practical Project Sea-Sweep field event focused on marine pest surveillance and targeted removal.

Rye is one of our priority Sea-Sweep sites, making repeated visits particularly valuable. By returning to the same location over time, we can compare what is being found, identify changes in pest abundance and direct future removal effort where it is most useful.

Our in-water teams will survey around the pier and surrounding habitat, recording pest observations and removing targeted invasive species where appropriate.

We’ll also record suitable marine-life observations encountered during the activity, adding biodiversity information to the practical pest-management work.

What to expect:

·    Targeted marine pest searching
