About the event

Join Aquaholics at Mordialloc for a hands-on marine conservation event combining kelp habitat monitoring and marine debris removal.

We’ll be returning to the site where Aquaholics volunteers helped The Nature Conservancy plant kelp seedlings, checking how they are progressing and recording what we find. Follow-up monitoring helps build a clearer picture of how restoration efforts are performing and how the surrounding habitat is changing over time.

Alongside the kelp survey, our teams will also clean up marine debris from around Mordialloc Pier and the surrounding reef as part of Aquaholics’ Sea-Sweep and Sea-Clear projects.

There will be opportunities to participate as a scuba diver, snorkeller or shore-support volunteer, so you do not need to be a diver to get involved.

All participants will receive a briefing before activities begin, covering the survey objectives, safe working practices, environmental considerations and how information collected during the event will be recorded.
